Hi, interns. I know being a Field Station intern has been a different experience for you. What did you forget to pack that, once you knew more about the Field Station, you had to go out and purchase? Post also any tips you have for future interns that will them be successful at the Field Station.

I forgot my bath robe!! I didnt buy another one but i surely could have used it.! I didnt buy any work boots and only had a few long sleeve shirts but i ended up not needing them any of it! SO i returned the shirts and saved money all together by not buying the boots!! I did have to buy some bug spray which could be helpful depending on which teacher you have and how much you are going to be outside. I brought two hats which were very helpful in the intense heat of the day!!
ReplyDeleteI forgot essential things such as sunblock and bug repelant. I can not believe i forgot something that simple. I had to run to Walmart on the very first day! You definitely need to be prepared for the outdoors when you are participating in the Fieldstation internship!! I also forgot socks :-( Which was a really wierd thing for me to forget considering how much I wear them.
ReplyDeleteFor this trip i forgot a lot of bring to pack. Espically for the kitchen. I had no idea we were actually moving into an apartment. I didnt bring nothing to live in an apartment with at all. I didnt even bring any toliet tissue. The first thing we did when we got our check was go to three different stores. We hit up the dollar store, walmart, and the goodwill store. We didnt have nothing in our room so we bought food dishes, cookware, toliteries, and what ever else we needed for our room. I was kind of upset because some of the thing that we bought i already had at home i could have brought from home. SO I WAS KIND OF UPSET. bUT WE MADE DUE WITH WHAT WE HAD.
ReplyDeleteI really didn't fotget to pack anything. Since I stay in Augusta, if I ever forgot something I could just go back and get it at anytime unless we were at SRS or on a field trip. I did forget to bring some snacks on the days I did stay in Aiken at the apartments. That was kinda a bummer because I get the munchies sometimes during the night...LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteMine was painfull. I forgot my bag with the whole groceies I bought fromhome. My blanket, cups, cutleries.. It was like..wow... I had to go back when I remembered it at the bus station. But Ii didn't have anything to do.. but come and buy most of them again.. SInce most of them are not preishable.. I ill eventualy use them alte.. But it really hurt at that time.
ReplyDeleteWe've only been here for a day, so food isn't really a problem yet....but I did forget my dishes, so on this long weekend coming up I'll get mine from home. Sad I have food with nothing to eat it with
